The PDS image obtained at the bottom of the microcontact printed thin film sample indicated a fast and inhomogeneous nucleation process of a PEO-rich phase due to the rapid mass transfer between the spreading droplet and the air/liquid interface. The PDS intensity profiles obtained at different times revealed the existence of one distinct PEO-rich phase and one distinct PPO-rich phase, and that the area of the phase domains with PEO-rich composition, for any stage of the film growth, was larger than that for the PPO-rich domain.
